Looking forward to work from home?

You have quit your off line job and are looking forward to work at home now.
Well there are a few things you should be aware of before jumping of joy.

Working from home can be tough!
Make sure you have a plan for rainy days and sick days. That means days when you cannot work or have less time to work. Working from home means that you will automatically spend more time on household chores than you would if you didn´t work at home.

Your time off may be less then it is now.
Depending on what kind of job you do you can find yourself working more than you did when you didn´t work at home.

Available 24h/day.
You availability will become known and you might find you get calls from family who “only” want you to run errands for them or pick up kids etc. You work at home and you must have so much time on your hands right?
Learning how to say no is a vital thing when it comes to working from home. Say no and soon (hopefully) people will understand there is no point in calling you because you are at work.

If you are at home with kids and think you will have more time with them then start thinking again.
Too many wahm’s/sahm’s complain that they are folding laundry all day and cleaning instead of playing with their kids. You need to make sure you really get the time to play with your kids.

But if you have decided to work from home then the only thing you can do is to make the best of the situation.

How do you find working from home? Stressful or not?
