Setting up a schedule that works for you

Today I have been reflecting over my schedule or the lack of it actually. I did have a schedule and it worked pretty well but somehow the schedule disappeared and I never took it up again. So I will once again make a new schedule to make sure I am using my time efficiently.

If you would like to make a schedule but have no idea where to start then here are a few tips;

  • If you need to plan in housework then list that on your schedule as well. Look over the things you need to do each week or month so you don't forget anything.
  • Check how long you need for each task- if you are unsure time them so you can plan better.
  • Don't forget to plan the small simple things as well even if you think you don't need to.
  • If it seems as if there aren't enough time in a day for you to get everything done then you probably need to re-prioritize your work. Check what you spend unnecessary time on and get up an hour earlier if needed. One good way to save time is to outsource what you don't need to do yourself. If your budgets allows you have someone to come and clean for you or help you with your paperwork.
  • Have fixed times, this will help you to make sure you don't stress at the last minute. If you finish at 5pm and still have work to do then make sure you check a few minutes earlier how you can get it done or if it can wait until the next day.
  • Add extra time to finish up tasks from the previous day. That way you don't have to take up precious time from your schedule and fall behind.
These are only small tips but they can help immensely when implemented the right way. if you feel as if you are wasting time and not being very efficient then it is probably time for you to set up a schedule.
